Join fellow LoCAR members for Real Estate CE at the Sea on April 21, 2026 🌊 Earn required continuing education hours while sharpening your skills to better serve buyers and sellers in our coastal communities. On Tuesday, April 21, we are hosting a rare, in-person educational event in Long Beach, WA featuring Annie Fitzsimmons, the Washington REALTORS&reg; Legal Hotline Attorney. Annie has served Washington&rsquo;s brokerage community in this role since 2001, and quite simply, she is one of the most trusted and relied-upon resources REALTORS&reg; have. Each year, Annie answers thousands of questions from brokers across the state. She develops curriculum, authors articles, creates educational videos, speaks for industry partners, testifies on legislation impacting brokerage services, advises policymakers, and works closely with regulatory agencies. But without question, her favorite work is being in the room with brokers&mdash;helping them strengthen their practices, reduce risk, preserve earned income, and exceed client expectations. Annie will be teaching two highly anticipated classes:<ul data-spread="false" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The Best of the Legal Hotline 3.5 CE 9am to 12:30pm<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The Best of the Legal Hotline is a fun, interactive course designed to address YOUR questions and concerns from your real estate practice. You will receive pointers and tips that you can apply immediately to your practice to reduce your own liability and to improve the quality and success of the transactions you put together. You will gain tools to assist you in creating a more pleasant and professional experience in all of your transactions for your clients, other industry professionals and yourself. </li></ul></li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Washington Real Estate Fair Housing 3 CE 1pm to 4pm<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Required Course for License Renewal. This is part of the required 30-hour continuing education instruction. The course will teach the historical and societal context of housing discrimination, legal framework intended to prevent housing discrimination, and steps to take to prevent housing discrimination. Topic Area I: Historical and Societal Context&nbsp; Topic Area II: Legal Framework&nbsp; Topic Area III: Role of the Broker and Managing Broker</li></ul></li></ul> These are practical, real-world courses brokers actively seek out because they directly impact how business is done&mdash;today, not hypothetically. She graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law, practiced law with the Tacoma firm Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell, and before law school, sold real estate alongside her parents in Lakewood.
