Join us for our Annual Haven Community Retreat! This year, the annual Haven retreat will be retuning to our favorite new retreat spot: the Bishop's Ranch in Healdsburg, California. Last year was our second time retreating there, and it was so lovely that we're excited to go back! This is a beautiful retreat center with gorgeous grounds, perfect for reflection and renewal, right in the heart of wine country. Our retreat venue includes:

ADA accessible spaces.

Great outdoor recreational options (weather permitting) including a solar-heated swimming pool, volleyball court, baseball diamond, and basketball court.

A fully stocked arts and crafts studio space.

A large meeting space for gathering and the talent show.

Multiple comfortable housing options with private or semi-private bathrooms.

A labyrinth for spiritual reflection.

Service of five fresh meals (Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch).

And more!

The theme of this year's retreat is "Renew to Resist". Our time together will build upon the fall teaching series, "All Things New", exploring the ways the Divine collaborates with us to renew all things, with particular interest in what that might mean for a post-evangelical community like Haven. Our weekend sessions will give us an opportunity to learn and engage with practices that can further our personal and collective renewal and sustain us for the ongoing work of faith-fueled resistance, whatever the outcome may be of our upcoming election. We'll have practices and reflections, facilitated by members of our teaching-team, opportunities to ground in song, and activities for kids and youth. In addition, we'll have lots of community time for relaxation, personal connection, fun recreation together, and the celebration of traditions, like the beloved Saturday night Talent Show and Campfire. Whether you have been in our community for a long time or are fairly new, we hope you'll spend the weekend with us as we enjoy connecting with nature, with one another, and with the Divine. Date and Time: The retreat will run from 7:30 pm Friday evening until 2 pm on Sunday. Participants are welcome to arrive as early as 5 pm on Friday for settling in, but folks can also come later as they are able. Dinner is not provided for our group Friday evening; we encourage you to eat before you arrive, bring your own food with you, or head into one of the restaurants in nearby Healdsburg. A large group gathering will take place starting at 7:30 pm Friday evening, and our hope is that most will be able to join us by then. Lodging: For lodging, we will be housed in two sets of spaces, slightly different than last year. This year we will occupy the Webb Lodge (ten bedrooms with a twin and a full size bed, or two twin beds, along with a bathroom), and the Harrison House (five large bedrooms that can accommodate couples and families as needed). Singles will most likely be accommodated in single rooms, unless they request a roommate. If we run out of space for this, we will contact single attenders directly. Each facility has at least one wheelchair accessible room. Food: Meals will be served in the dining hall and are prepared fresh, often including produce grown on the grounds. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. The site works hard to accommodate allergies, though folks with significant food sensitivities may prefer to bring their own food. All folks are also encouraged to bring nut-free snacks and beverages to share during hangout times. Please note: We know that costs for the annual retreat have increased in recent years. Haven has a generous benevolence fund, with money set aside for the Haven retreat, so if you need a full or partial scholarship for your household at any level, please let us know and we will seek to allocate funds toward your participation. There is a place on this form to indicate the level of assistance you are hoping for. At checkout, use the discount code "SCHOLARSHIP" to indicate that you are requesting assistance. You will pay nothing at this time and be invoiced later for any balance. Able to give a little extra to contribute toward retreat scholarships? You can do so at the portion of our form labeled "Add a donation for Haven Berkeley Faith Community." All of these gifts are tax-deductible and will help others attend the Haven retreat.
