PREPARING THE TRAPHunger is Key:&nbsp;Pick up all food (wet and dry) the day of trapping.Comfort: Line the bottom with newspaper. On cold nights, place a towel under the trap.&nbsp;Bait:&nbsp;Use smelly wet food (fish/seafood) or tuna in oil. Place a tiny bit at the entrance and the rest at the back.Safety:&nbsp;Place on level ground, out of direct sunlight and rain. Cover the trap &frac12; way down the back with a sheet or towel.Timing: Do not leave the trap unattended. 2. SURGERY DROP-OFFIf you miss an appointment, DO NOT release the cat. Keep it in the covered trap in the bathroom/laundry room, and try again the next morning.&nbsp;You can offer a small amount of food, remove it 12 hours before surgery, and provide water. When you open the trap, make sure they do not escape! 3. POST-OP &amp; RELEASEPickup: most are 3:30 PM &ndash; 4:00 PM; check with the facility. 4. Recovery: Keep the cat in the covered trap overnight in a climate-controlled room (e.g., a bathroom or laundry room).Warning: Do not open the trap or provide food/water during recovery.Release: The next morning, if the cat is alert, release it at the same location it was caught.
