The Bethune Height Recognition Program was founded in 1974 and has grown into a great national movement. Its uniqueness comes from the annual opportunity it gives individuals to live the legacy of NCNW’s Founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune by contributing to the work for which she dedicated her life. In 2010, BHRP was renamed to recognize and also honor the significant contributions of Dr. Height who served as NCNW’s Chair and President Emerita.
The Bethune Height Recognition Program recognizes "heirs” to NCNW’s mission. Our “Bethune Achievers,” Life and Legacy Life members who exemplify leadership, in their dedication to community service and social justice. This important annual event raises awareness of NCNW’s mission and promotes opportunities and advancements to improve the quality of life for women, children and families. Also honored will be:

The NCNW Rocky Mountain Regional Coalition (RMRC) focuses on uniting local sections in Washington State, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska and New Mexico to collaboratively address issues pertinent to African American women, families, and communities, thereby enhancing the quality of life through innovative community service programs.
