Intermediate Clinic - Sport Climbing Anchors & Cleaning

Intermediate Clinics would require some experience with climbing and knots. Not a beginner clinic. Guests will have to be comfortable belaying and tying in already.

●       Various sport climbing anchors using 2 bolt anchors

●       How to clean the anchors safely and the steps to do so

●       When and where to rappel and why

●       Risks and how to mitigate the risks

●       Communication through the process of cleaning anchors

●      Talking about common mistakes and how to lower the risks

Intermediate Clinic - Sport Climbing Anchors & Cleaning

Intermediate Clinics would require some experience with climbing and knots. Not a beginner clinic. Guests will have to be comfortable belaying and tying in already.

boulders) and how to evaluate the quality of each feature

●       How to equalize 2 anchor points into one

●       Safety checks

●       Managing ropes at the cliff

●       How to bail from a single pitch sport route

In this clinic, World Champion Paraclimber Melissa Ruiz shares lessons from her eight-year journey of adapting climbing techniques to accommodate her disability. Through personal experiences, practical instruction, and collaborative problem-solving, Melissa will help participants explore alternative movements, overcome physical and mental challenges, and build confidence in their individual climbing journeys.

Designed for paraclimbers of all experience levels, whether pursuing competitive climbing or personal goals, this clinic emphasizes that there is no single “right” way to climb. Participants will explore movement adaptations, discuss training challenges, and develop strategies for continued growth.

In this clinic, I’ll share how I’ve learned to adapt climbing movement to my own body and help you do the same. Height, reach, flexibility, strength, hand size, and mobility all affect how we move, which means the same beta won’t work for everyone. Through a hands on session, we’ll explore different ways to approach movement so you can better understand your strengths, make thoughtful adjustments, and find the beta that works best for your body.
