Become a SCAN member and help connect more people with South Carolina’s lands, waters, and wildlife. 🌿 Join SCAN to explore South Carolina’s natural world alongside people who share your curiosity. Through field trips, you’ll visit diverse habitats, learn from experienced naturalists, contribute observations to a growing record of the state’s natural history, and build friendships with people who enjoy learning in the field. Whether you’re an experienced naturalist or simply eager to learn more, SCAN offers a welcoming community for discovery, shared knowledge, and a deeper understanding of South Carolina’s flora, fauna, geology, and ecosystems. We gather on the fourth Saturday of each month to explore a different area of the state and document all the species we can find! In January we host a daylong meeting featuring speakers on a variety of topics. Choose from a one, two or three year membership, or select the lifetime option so you don't have to worry about renewing each year! Family members can join at a discounted rate.
