ONA students now can join “a club” that is designed just for them! Thanks to student input, we are excited to offer three
unique club activities: Books & Brunch Club, Movie Theatre Club, and Burger Bonanza: A Summer-long challenge to find
the best burger in Berkley! The clubs will meet regularly and are an important objective toward ONA’s mission to promote
friendships and socialization with like peers.

Experiences are aplenty for ONA Summer Camp 2025. ONA will be planning excursions to a local Escape Room, the Detroit
Zoo, Tamarack Camps, and The Happy Day Fishing Camp. Other in-house activities that we are excited to offer include
visiting the Berkley Farmers Market, seeing the Woodward Dream Cruise Parade down 12 Mile in Downtown Berkley, and
more. All fun day activities include treats and supervision provided by ONA.

Designed by the young adults who participate in ONA’s Curriculum Program, these postcards help students build skills including learning the process of design and simple production. Students color and add visual appeal to a design. They also learn how to upload it onto a computer program for printing, then hand package the cards and get them ready for
mailing or for sale at the ONA Boutique.

These hand-decorated items are a project for young entrepreneurs in Birmingham’s Adult Transition Program. Students add themed décor to the fronts while practicing skills while making these sets (ordering supplies, following step-by-step directions, the creative process, presentation, and selling to the community). These are for sale at the ONA Boutique, local art fairs, and at Birmingham Public School activities.

This microbusiness is collaboration between Berkley Schools’ Adult Transition Program, Dog & Pony Show Brewery in Oak
Park, and Our Neighborhood Academy. Students make the treats using “spent grain,” a byproduct of the beer brewing
process, then package the treats at the ONA Boutique. Treats can be purchased at Our Neighborhood Academy, Dog
and Pony Show Brewery, Coffee and Bark, Monarch Café, and Berkley High School.
