Join us on May 21 at 6:00pm at the MARC to learn about the latest research on Indigenous Forestry, Memory in Trees, and Forests in a Changing Climate.&nbsp;Featuring: Jaime Yazzie from Northern Arizona University, and Dr. Drew Peltier and Dr. Brandon Strange from the University of Las Vegas. Their research spans multiple disciplines of forestry and forest health across the Colorado Plateau and Southwestern United States.&nbsp; This event is free for all guides from Science Certified companies (certified in 2024 or later), or any guide from a company who is scheduled for a training in 2026. Costs for all others are $20 CONTACT: karson@sciencemoab.org Speakers:Jaime Yazzie (Senior Research Coordinator, NAU)- is primarily interested in tribal forestry and forest management, Indigenous methodology and science, and the impacts of climate change on forest health and Din&eacute; communities. Dr. Drew Peltier (Assistant Research Professor, UNLV)- is focused on understanding how trees respond to their environments over time, and improving our capacity to predict forest responses to global change. Dr. Brandon Strange- uses ecophysiology and dendrochronology to examine how trees record and respond to climate and environmental influences. He will be presenting on how monsoons impact tree growth on the Colorado Plateau.
