This event occurs the first Saturday of February each year. Although the event is free to the public, it typically costs Post 255 approximately $450. Any donations to help defray the cost is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

This event occurs the second Friday of April each year. This event typically costs Post 255 $500-$900. The public is invited to this event. A suggested donation for all attendees is suggested but not required. Prior to a catered lunch served to all guests, Post 255 will recognize and honor our local selections for First Responders of the year. This includes Law Officer, Firefighter, Paramedic, Emergency Dispatcher, and in 2026, the Post 255 will honor our first K9 Officer.

WAA is a favorite program of Post 255. Our goal is to place a live green wreath on all 1700 veteran's graves at Deltona Memorial Gardens Cemetery for the holiday season. For every 3.4 wreaths purchased, WAA donates an additional wreath. Our post goal is to raise $26,000 before Nov. 15, 2025.

Sgt David G Ledgerwood Post 255 is currently a small post with giant dreams. Our motto: "Small but Mighty" is embedded with great potential. With approximately 8000 veterans living in Deltona, we are moving forward with our dream of a Post Home adjacent to the Deltona Veterans Memorial Park & Museum, on Elkcam Blvd. We are currently in negotiations with the City of Deltona to produce a land lease agreement. We plan to build a nearly 20,000 sq.ft. American Legion Family Center. This Post Home will include a large main hall, several smaller rooms, a patriotic store, a Junior Shooting Sports range, offices to include an office space for local non-profit organizations, a commercial kitchen & large dining area. Please consider donating to this Building Fund Campaign and help us construct an amazing activities center for not only our veterans & their families but for our Deltona community at large.
