It&#39;s a chance like no other, to play against the youngest chess player to ever to achieve the Grandmaster title, GM Abhimanyu Mishra, who became a grandmaster at the age of 12 years, 4 months, and 25 days, in June of 2021. He is the 13th strongest player in the U.S. among active USCF members and ranked 141st in the world among active FIDE members. GM Mishra is one of us (born in New Jersey) and we want you to be there to take up the challenge! 🎉 Other accomplishments of GM Mishra include a first-place (6/9) finish at the 2023 U.S. Junior Championship, qualifying for the 2023 U.S. Championship, at which he finished second place with a score of 6.5/11, tying former U.S. Champion GM Wesley So and former World Blitz Champion GM Leinier Dom&iacute;nguez, and behind only 2022 U.S. Champion GM Fabiano Caruana. The proceeds of this event will be matched by the NJSCF to help GM Mishra with his training and travel as he strives to become one of the top chess players in the world. Every registration to this event will help him get closer to his goal of being a top world player; and altogether promote New Jersey and the NJSCF in top-tier chess.
