Join us for Skating Merit Badge Day in coordination with volunteers from the Portland Ice Skating Club&nbsp;and the staff of Mountain View Skating Academy. This event will facilitate the ice skating option for the merit badge. Basic ice skating skills are required, this event is not geared towards those who have never skated. The classroom portion of the merit badge will start promptly at noon. After the academic portions are covered, Scouts will receive one hour of private on-ice instruction and evaluation, facilitated by certified US Figure Skating coaches and a registered merit badge counselor. Afterwards, Scouts will have an additional hour of public skating to practice and demonstrate their skills. Attendees will receive coupons towards future skating and/or lessons. The class fee covers ice time, rental skates, and instruction. This fee is non-refundable.
