This first session is about getting to know each other and what we each bring to this community. We&#39;ll begin by exploring the different modalities of slow looking through someone else&#39;s photographs so that we can focus on the skills without the weight of personal investment in the work. I&#39;d like each of you to contribute two photographs. The first should be your gold standard: an image that truly moves you, that you find incredibly profound and impactful &mdash; maybe it&#39;s that photograph that makes you say, &quot;Damn, I wish I made that!&quot; The second is a photograph that you&#39;ve spent time with, one you keep coming back to, and yet you find yourself saying, &quot;I honestly don&#39;t see what the big deal is.&quot; Either you&#39;re ambivalent, or you have some disdain for it &mdash; you&#39;re drawn to it, but not in a positive way.
