As October brings us closer to our fall workshop, the USA Regenerative Agricultural Alliance invites you to join us next month for Soil Health CSI: What is Your Soil Trying to Tell You? This hands-on event will explore the clues beneath our feet and how understanding them can help us better care for the land. Jessi Linkous of NRCS and Dr. Forbes Walker of the UT Institute of Agriculture will lead participants through hands-on soil testing using samples from our Farm Campus, locations across Greene County, and samples brought by attendees. They will explain what to look for when evaluating soil health, what different conditions may reveal, and how to recognize when your soil needs attention. Participants will gain practical insights to help guide better soil management on their own farms and in their gardens.Stan Pace of CaluSolv will share his experience with soil health and explain the role calcium can play in improving soil structure. His discussion will cover how CaluSolv is used to help address compaction, improve water infiltration, and support better conditions for soil and plant growth. Mike McElroy of Timeless Fence System will also join us to discuss the connection between fencing, grazing management, and soil health. He will be available to answer questions and share practical ways producers can use fencing systems to manage livestock and care for their land. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 7, from 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, at 203 Wilson Hill Rd, Greeneville, TN (next to the airport). Lunch will follow at 12:30 PM. Registration is $50, and attendance is limited to 50 participants, so make plans now to reserve your spot. Whether you manage a farm, tend a garden, or want to learn more about the ground beneath your feet, Soil Health CSI offers an opportunity to ask questions, learn from experienced presenters, and discover what your soil may be trying to tell you. We look forward to seeing you in November!
