Enjoy a delicious dinner followed by an engaging, in-person conversation with Dave Larsen, South Suburban author of Green Street in Black and White: A Chicago Story. Set in the 1960s, Larsen’s compelling novel follows a young boy growing up on Green Street as he and his friends navigate a neighborhood experiencing racial change and growing social tension. Through the innocence of childhood the story explores fear, friendship, courage, and the enduring power of community during one of America’s most challenging eras. As we gather together, we’ll reflect on the lessons of the past and explore how understanding our shared history can help us build stronger, more connected communities today. For more information regarding this event contact Hildy Kingma at 708-323-5320.
