The Madera Handy Helpers (M2H) are eager to come to your house for a full day and take care of your household and/or yard project(s) of choice! Sanding, painting, fence mending, hole-digging, yard weeding/stump removal, debris hauling, home-technology projects, speaker wires, computer set-up, art hanging, shelf-moving, woodworking, furniture fixing, garage cleaning. If you can think of it, the M2H can likely take it on, as long as it doesn’t require a permit and can be done in a day! Once the work date has been agreed upon, the M2H will provide a labor force (along with a can-do party attitude!), composed of highly-motivated parents/caregivers who have shown their skills at previous school events (eg., work parties for the garden teacher, set-up and breakdown of community and fundraising events, all types of jobs for teachers’ classrooms, etc). We will make sure people contribute to the team effort, either at the planning stage by coordinating/discussing with you, assigning task leads, preparing materials, any possible pre-work as necessary, and/or on the actual day of. This is an ALL-HANDS on deck event, so we will bring as many volunteers as possible, with the goal of accomplishing as much as possible in a single day. This exciting weekend will kick off on Saturday AM with the trip down the South Fork of the American River. We will meet at Camp Lotus, have lunch, pack snacks and get ready for the 5-6 hour trip down the Sourth Fork. You'll have a few miles of warm up before entering the canyon known as the ""Gorge"" where you get to experience Class 3+ rapids, as well as numerous milder rapids along the way. This trip will include one or two other guides as part of the safety boat, as well as their daughter.
