Join us for the Spring Thing event at Smith Rock State Park! This is the 32nd annual Spring Thing park clean-up event at Smith Rock. We will be working with Oregon Stat Park staff and BLM staff to support trail maintenance, conservation, and preservation of our amazing park. Grab your friends and family, and get ready for an unforgettable Spring Thing at Smith Rock State Park!

Rope de Dope Steps

Replace wood steps along the Rope de Dope trail to the Bivy. A continuation of a project started last year. Requires use of power tools and heavy equipment.
Invasive Species Removal

Help with the removal of invasive species. This is a very important project to keep the park in good condition! Light activity.
Shipwreck Wall

Rock work to help support the hillside. Requires heavy lifting and rock work.
Lower Gorge
Free
Help the lower gorge by building platforms, steps and fixing trails. Requires climbing down into the lower gorge and moving heavy materials like rock and equipment.
Llama Wall
Free
Rebuilding the Llama wall trail and platform. Will require some rock work and moving dirt.
Native Plant Garden Clean Up

Great project for kids. Help plant and clean up the Native Garden. A family favorite for littles!
North Point Loop Rock Lining

Great project for kids. Help line the trail at the northern point to protect natural areas and keeping visitors on trails.
Stair Cleaning through the main climbing Area
