In September of 2020, Dr. Brenda Miller-Chambliss received that 5:30 am call that no parent wants to get. &nbsp;Her son, Tyler Randolph Eugene Williams, had been murdered. Despite a deep personal relationship with the Lord as Co-Pastor of the Embassy Church of God in Christ with her husband, Supt. Dr. Will Chambliss, and over 35 years of experience in media and leadership training and development, battled anxiety and depression after Tyler&#39;s murder. &nbsp; Needing help, she reached out to a local church that hosted a well-known grief support ministry weekly. When she explained her situation, she was told that they didn&#39;t deal with murder or suicide, only the more acceptable and recognizable causes of death.&nbsp; Being distraught, she went into her office, cried out to God, and in two weeks, Step By Step Women&#39;s Grief Ministry for the Survivors of Victims of Homicide and Suicide was formed to fill a void in grief support that deals with murder, suicide, and tragic loss in our communities.&nbsp; From 2020 to 2024, the ministry was established and began working with at-risk youth with CHOICES: A Youth Mentor Program for at-risk youth ages 6 to 17. Without guidance and instruction, many of these youth could become victims or perpetrators. &nbsp;At the end of 2024, Dr. Brenda was offered the opportunity to publish her first book in a series of three.&nbsp; In 2025, the ministry was rebranded as Step By Step: Tragic Death Grief Support Ministry for Survivors of the &nbsp;Victims of Murder, Suicide, and Tragic Loss. In April 2025, Step By Step: How To Survive The Murder, Suicide, or Tragic Loss Of A Close Family Member was published in English and Spanish. Our goal now in our 5th year and the 5th remembrance of Tyler&#39;s yet unsolved murder, on July 20th, 2020. &nbsp;We are excited to launch the first Step By Step S.O.S. Survivor Overcomer&#39;s Summit, August 16, 2025.&nbsp; Our goal is to share the benefits and goals of Step By Step; reach out to individuals in the community who are Survivors and try and solicit partnerships with the business and church leaders. This event will also be a professional taping for the Step By Step Survivors Podcast and Book Signing and Launch. We look forward to having you attend this powerful event.&nbsp;
