About this event
This group meets Thursdays 4:30-6pm (February 5, 12, 19 & 26) at 306 Revere Rd. Hillsborough, NC
Fiber art is currently seeing a resurgence, reclaimed as a powerful medium for rebellion and protest. Previously seen as a ‘soft’ craft, it’s now being acquired by museums and honored across the art world. There is a deep history of the vulnerable using this medium for communication and connection. If you have something to say, this class is for you! And if you also just want to make some pretty art, you are more than welcome.
Learn the basic stitches, how to transfer designs, how to incorporate your own art, how to mix with other media. All materials provided!
Facilitator: Shaerie Mead
