Continuing our intentions of hosting programs aligned with solstices and equinoxes, we&#39;re celebrating the vernal equinox together with a campout and stargazing! &nbsp;Come for the whole evening or just the star gazing! &nbsp;Astronomers will attempt a Messier Marathon observing challenge as well. The Director of Belk Observatory is partnering with us for this event, and we have reserved the Belk Observatory surrounding field for the camping experience. Tentative plan:Saturday 3/215p arrive at Belk Observatory for tent/camp load-in (FYI, no fires permitted at Observatory area)7:00p Behind the scenes set up at Belk Observatory (optional sunset walk at that time as well)8:00p Stargazing at Belk Observatory with discussion about the Vernal (Spring) Equinox9:30p stargazing program ends, but campers stay overnight Saturday 3/20Breakfast on your ownPack out of area by 10am More details with driving instructions and expectations will be sent to registrants!
