🎬March of Happiness is an award-winning Taiwanese historical drama set during Taiwan&#39;s transition from Japanese colonial rule to the arrival of the Chinese Nationalist (KMT) government after World War II. Set against the vibrant cultural backdrop of late-1940s Dadaocheng, the film follows young artists, performers, and intellectuals whose dreams, love, and creative pursuits are shattered by political upheaval, culminating in the 228 Massacre (1947) and the beginning of the White Terror. The love story between A-Jin and Nuan-Yu serves as a metaphor for Taiwan&#39;s tragic historical fate while reflecting a generation&#39;s pursuit of cultural enlightenment and artistic expression in the face of oppression. Through their journey, the film invites viewers to reflect on how ordinary people confront injustice and endure the weight of history. Movie will be shown with English subtitles. Following the screening, we will host a discussion on the film&#39;s historical context and Q&amp;A.&nbsp; <img height="16" width="16" alt="✨" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tf4/1/16/2728.png" id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="fr-draggable" style="cursor: pointer; padding: 0px 1px; user-select: none; max-width: 100%; position: relative; box-sizing: inherit;">&nbsp;Meet the panelist<img height="16" width="16" alt="✨" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tf4/1/16/2728.png" id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="fr-draggable" style="cursor: pointer; padding: 0px 1px; user-select: none; max-width: 100%; position: relative; box-sizing: inherit;">&nbsp;<img height="16" width="16" alt="✨" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tf4/1/16/2728.png" fr-original-style="" fr-original-class="fr-draggable" style="cursor: pointer; padding: 0px 1px; user-select: none; max-width: 100%; position: relative; box-sizing: inherit;"> Dr. Jeanette Hsu is a clinical psychologist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where she has served for over 30 years, and a Clinical Professor (Affiliated) at Stanford University.
