“We were called offshore for "crazy whales", which are super playful and interactive whales, and I had never seem them before. The water was ROUGH, but we drove until we found them. I remember holding my mask on my face with my one hand as I swam into the waves dragging my camera rig behind me in the other hand to swim to them — it was two "crazy whales"! They were twirling and spinning in the water, and it looked like they were moving along. Then this one (image subject) turned and swam directly under me, and I zoomed out SO fast and held my camera against me, thinking there was no way I got this whale in the frame. This was an image I had dreamt of creating for so long! It's from a few years ago and still one of my absolute favourite images to date.” - Andrea Kozlovic
