Water based pigment and oil on birch.
12 x 9''22
Market Value: $300
These paintings are part of a small series and they pair well together -- or can go on their own. Inspiration comes from natural forms and early cyanotype photography use in "herbaria" (collections of plant specimens) -- as well as love of color, layering, overlapping rhythms and negative/ positive spaces.

Kurak is the Kyrgyz word for “patchwork”.
This Piece features the vintage portrait of a Kyrgyz woman wearing her traditional headdress called the Elechek. Can be hung as a wall hanging or used as a bed cover. The Kurak patterns use triangles and squares assembled to make larger patterns and symbols. These triangles also known as “tumar” are symbols of man’s connection to community, and the heavens.

Come have lunch or a coffee at Runner & Stone. At Runner & Stone, we believe that cooking and eating are social, communal activities that connect people to one another, and that food service is not only the act of preparing and presenting ingredients for consumption, but rather one part of an experience that should make sense seasonally, geographically, environmentally and emotionally.
