Tellabration: Foundations — Stories That Made Us Some foundations are inherited. Some are built. Some are discovered. Some are the things that quite literally hold us up. And some may be found in rather unexpected places and carried forward in rather unexpected ways—from the metaphorical and abstract to the literal. We ask: what are the stories we stand on, the stories that ground us and hold us up? For this year's Tellabration, Patchwork storytellers explore the many things that shape us and give us a place to stand: family and childhood, memory and loss, land and tradition, dreams, identity, transformation, resilience, and the stories we carry forward. Expect an eclectic evening of storytelling, with personal stories, traditional tales, a creation story, a fairy tale with a twist, music, laughter, reflection, and perhaps a surprise or two along the way.—because foundations aren't always what we imagine. Our Storytellers for the afternoon are, in alphabetical order:Michele Belluomini, Paul Best, Sanjukta Bhowmik, Ingrid Bohn, Carin Bonifacino, Denise McCormack, Mike Nessle, Sophia Pazos, Barbara Sherf, Ed Stivender, Christina Sturgis, and David Vanadia. Hosted by Denise McCormack Join us for an afternoon of stories about what has shaped us, what sustains us, what we inherit, what we build—and sometimes, what we discover only when we look beneath the surface and listen.
