Come honor the legacy of the original founders of the city of Melbourne, FL (Balaam Allen, Wright Brothers, and Peter Wright). The three men were formerly enslaved before being freed and arriving in Central Florida between 1867-1885. &nbsp;Their families formed a community and named the area Crane Creek which was renamed Melbourne years later. They brought natural skills: farming, sailing, and praising God, with the will to survive in taming the Crane Creek wilderness. The history of Melbourne is entrenched in the discovery and awareness of the land and the people. These freed Black slaves started the vision of community that exists in what we know as Melbourne today. The Prayer Breakfast will be hosted in the main ballroom of the elegant Crown Plaza Oceanfront Hotel, Melbourne.
