In this Explore Italy Signature Series class, discover the people, ideas, and pivotal events that brought the Italian peninsula together during the Risorgimento&mdash;and explore how a sense of Italianit&agrave;, or Italian identity, had begun to take shape centuries earlier. Dr. Paola Basile will bring this history to life through engaging discussion and images, tracing the path from divided states to a unified nation. Along the way, you&rsquo;ll see how Italy&rsquo;s distinct regional cultures remained part of its national identity. The first part of the program will feature discussion, while the second will be devoted to sampling traditional foods and wines from across Italy.&nbsp; Join us for a lively morning exploring the making of a nation&mdash;and the cultures that make it Italy.
