Isis is a conservation biologist based in Sonoma County, California, who works to protect western monarch butterflies and their habitat. She leads community science projects, including the Xerces Society's Western Monarch Count and Western Monarch Milkweed Mapper, and supports habitat restoration efforts and outreach to the public. Before joining Xerces, she worked in agricultural climate adaptation and pollinator conservation with a local resource conservation district. Isis holds a degree in environmental management and protection with a minor in biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in her garden and listening to high fantasy audiobooks.
