Corporate or Personal Donations: Donate your hearts desire to our book drive. We want to provide a minimum of 5 books and reading materials top our student membership for their personal libraries. We have a goal of creating a 250 Book library on site and 250 books to give to our youth. Each student receives the book “Tale of the Terrapin,” a parable originally told by Cudjo Lewis. A survival of the last slave ship to dock to the US in 1859.   The JAMM Academy has a 10 month calendar with events for members each to sign up for up. All events are FREE. Become a member for Free. Workforce Development Workshops, Maritime Careers, Field Trips, Social Recreation, Academic Enrichment,  Conflict Resolution &amp; Critical Thinking, Volunteering, Social Recreation, Sports Tournament teams, and a host of services we offer.  The JAMM Youth Sports &amp; Student-Athlete University is built on one clear belief: our young people don’t need more programs—they need one proven pathway. A pathway with a standard, a culture, and a destination. We seek to raise $50,000 for 10-month cycle of operations from February to November of 2026 (each year). A fusion of “Harbor” and “Bridge”<ul><li>The Academy is the Harbor for Workforce Development: a safe, consistent home base where student-athletes are developed with structure, mentorship, and high expectations during the hours that matter most.</li><li>The Academy is also the Bridge: a guided, multi-year pathway that moves students from the “hook” of elite sports performance into the “reality” of high-wage maritime careers—through literacy recovery, leadership training, and workforce readiness exposure.</li><li>Many of our at-risk students come from economically challenged backgrounds and underperforming schools with good teachers but lack of resources. </li></ul>Why unification changes outcomes (not just branding) When efforts operate separately, young people experience “starts and stops.” When they are unified, the Academy becomes a continuous pipeline with one culture and one set of expectations—the H.E.R.O.S. Standard (Helping Everyone Realize Our Success)—applied everywhere: the field, the classroom, and the career track.The student-athlete experience: from “at-risk” to “pre-professional” The promise of JAMM is not simply participation—it is identity transformation. From day one, student-athletes are treated as future scholarship candidates and future workforce professionals. Their development is intentional and connected:<ul><li>A single Academy home base where the same trusted adults who train them in sports fundamentals also mentor them in life skills and maritime readiness.</li><li>A seamless career track where athletic performance, academic progress, and workshop growth are connected—so students repeatedly see how discipline in training translates into discipline in the workplace.</li><li>A culture where excellence is not a slogan; it is a standard that shows up in attendance, accountability, coachability, and leadership. </li></ul>We provide sports specific training in football, baseball and track sprintsWe provide performance training for all sports male and female.We have a full calendar of training each year, and membership is free.  Training, Competitions, Combines, Camps, Travel Tournaments, Travel Teams, Professional Field Trips &amp; Intramural games at John Kidd Park. Cudjo Kassola Lewis and the 110 captives come from vibrant, historical and diverse cultures dating back to Afrikan Antiquity. The 2026 JAMM Youth Workforce Development Workshop ModulesProgram Structure and Schedule The 2026 JAMM Youth Workshop Modules are designed as an immersive, 10 month-long program that provides consistent mentorship and skill development for Africatown Area students. The program is structured into distinct five-week modules, held on once a week.
