Anton Chekhov's The Proposal is a one-act farce that satirizes the materialistic and quarrelsome nature of the 19th-century Russian landowning class. It is a short, hilarious, and practical short story about two wealthy neighbors with the goal of expanding their wealth through marriage. Overtones, Alice Gerstenberg's most famous play, is a hilarious one-act that explores the dynamic between two women, played by four actors. As always, parents and guardians are encouraged to consider their individual child’s comfort with live theatre and ability to remain seated for the duration of the performance. Approximate runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes
