We&#39;re so excited that you&#39;ll be joining us on the water this Spring. Even if you rowed with us in the Fall, it is really useful for us as we organise our provision to be reminded of your experience, ability, and preferences. Especially as we have some new members in leadership. Once that&#39;s done; there are a few important things you need to know. ContactsLet&#39;s introduce you to our core team, which consists of our Elected Committee and Appointed Captains:&mdash; President: Ben Gregson (bgregson@g.harvard.edu), G4 in Comparative Literature, and your point person for any questions regarding any aspect of the club.&nbsp;&mdash; Vice President: Lauren Potyk (lpotyk@g.harvard.edu), G3 in Environmental Science, and your point person for issues regarding onboarding, Slack access, and swim-test compliance.&nbsp;&mdash; Treasurer: Sam Hocking (shocking@g.harvard.edu), G2 in Applied Math, and your point person for all things finance.&nbsp;&mdash; Secretary: Yoonseo Lee (yoonseolee@g.harvard.edu), G3 in Bioengineering, and your point person for questions regarding coxing especially.&nbsp;&mdash; Women&#39;s Captain: Melinda Meng (mmeng@jd27.law.harvard.edu), 2L at HLS and point person for questions regarding women&#39;s outings and coordination.&mdash; Men&#39;s Captain: Luc Jamous (ljamous@hks.harvard.edu) 2nd year MPP at HKS, and point person for questions regarding men&#39;s outings and coordination. Water Session Sign-Up&nbsp;The sign-up sheet for weekly outings will be available via Slack. Please fill out your availability by EOD (5pm) Friday for the following Mon-Sun. Our leadership will then fix outings by EOD Sunday and send out Google Calendar invitations as well as tagging you in #water-sessions on Slack. Please confirm both invitations. [This is subject to change&mdash;stay posted on Slack!] Set Up For Water PracticesThe majority of our outings, at least for the start of the Spring season, will be from our site by the Boston Latin School Boathouse here. It is easy to get a bus or a blue bike most of the way from the Yard. Sometimes, members drive and you will be able to carpool. Biking is by far the easiest way to get here. Unfortunately, we do not have facilities for storing belongings at this site, so be sure to keep valuables to the minimum and able to be kept on your person. Water Session ExpectationsAs you will remember from the Registration Form, punctuality is crucial to a well-run Rowing Club. As such, be sure to pay attention to the location of your water session invitations, so that we are able to keep outings running to time.&nbsp; If you are unwell and cannot row please try to let us know 24h in advance so we can try to find a sub. You can also use the sign-up sheet to see who else had indicated availability for that day and try to arrange your own sub, but always be sure to let the Captains or at very least the Coxswain know as soon as possible if you think you will be unable to make an outing.&nbsp; SlackNow that you&#39;re registered, Lauren will be adding you to our Slack platform. We will use the email that you entered into your registration form, and you should receive an invitation. If you do not, try to log in with your Harvard Key through this link. Once you&#39;re in the Slack, make sure you are joined to #general-announcements and #water-sessions. There are also #novices and #land-training channels as well as #social and dedicated men&#39;s/women&#39;s comp channels which the Captains can invite you to.&nbsp; NovicesAs we mentioned, if you are a novice to rowing, we need to arrange for you to complete a &quot;barge&quot; session, likely on a Saturday, where you will learn the fundamentals of Sweep Rowing (one oar per person). This is covered by your registration fee. If you catch the bug, then you will pay your full Fall dues and be cycled into weekly outings. These will either be with Coach Kate from Newell boathouse or with Coach Will at the Boston University boathouse. Spring DuesAs mentioned, the registration fee will include your first outing (barge session for novices). After that, if you would like to continue rowing with us (which we greatly hope you will!), the full Spring dues will need to be paid before you are selected for any further outings.
