This is where our story begins. The Trial Machine is a dark comedy based on Franz Kafka&rsquo;s novel, The Trial, originally published a century ago. The heart of this story could have been written today and highlights just how easily one can get stuck in the legal system with no recourse or clear way out. K&rsquo;s frustration with bureaucracy and the absolute ridiculousness involved in navigating government processes are heightened to the degree of absurdity in this devised homage to German Expressionism.&nbsp;
