The Wars That Weren't... Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran explores how conflicts shape our nation’s story, even when they’re not formally declared as wars. This lecture explores the major military conflicts fought by the United States in the decades following World War II, many of which were never formally declared wars but profoundly shaped world events and American society. The lecture examines the global causes, key events, and lasting consequences of the Korean War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, placing each conflict within its broader geopolitical context. It then brings the story home to Meriden.
