General Theatre 1 (for students in preschool through 1st grade).

We believe that early exposure to theatre is incredibly valuable for young actors. It gives them a head start in developing essential skills, learning basic theatre terminology, and gaining confidence on stage during their formative years.

In General Theatre 1, students focus on building a strong foundation in theatre and dramatic play. Through storytelling, simple role-playing, expressive voice work, and imaginative movement, children explore characters, emotions, and core theatre concepts in a playful and supportive environment. This class encourages creativity, boosts confidence, and helps young performers grow their communication skills through fun, interactive games and activities.

General Theatre 2 (for students in upper elementary).

Runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

We’ve found that playful, age-appropriate activities help students focus on self-expression, build confidence, and understand the importance of collaboration within a cast. Working as a team to create something theatrical fosters both personal growth and a strong sense of community.

In General Theatre 2, students continue to build on their foundational acting skills through creative drama games, improvisation, storytelling, character development, and introductory script work. This class deepens those skills through engaging activities such as short skits, reader’s theatre, tongue twisters, and more—encouraging students to take creative risks while having fun and growing as performers.

General Theatre 3 (for advanced elementary and middle school students).

Runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This class is designed to strengthen key performance skills, including vocal projection, character development, stage presence, and the ability to interpret and express the emotions and intentions behind a script. In General Theatre 3, students will be challenged to explore theatre more deeply through self-expression, emotional vulnerability, and a refined understanding of character work—allowing them to form personal connections with the roles they portray.

Students are encouraged to take creative risks, offer original interpretations, and build authentic characters. The class supports growth as both individual artists and collaborative members of an ensemble. Each session incorporates targeted techniques to develop the actor’s mind, voice, and body—laying the groundwork for confident, compelling, and truthful performances in front of a live audience.

Through a blend of improvisation, character exercises, and scripted scene study, students will continue to strengthen their foundation in acting while expanding their creative range and performance confidence.

General Theatre 4 (for advanced middle and high school students).

Runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

We encourage our students to continually build upon the skills they've gained in previous classes, using that foundation to explore theatre on a deeper, more thoughtful level.

In General Theatre 4, students move beyond the fundamentals of acting to engage with broader theatrical concepts, including theatre history, performance theory, and the intentional use of the body, voice, and mind as expressive tools.

Students are ready for General Theatre 4 when they have confidently mastered stage directions, script reading, and physical and vocal expression. This class is designed to challenge them intellectually and artistically, fostering a deeper appreciation for the art form and a more refined approach to performance.

Group Voice (for students ages 8–14).

Runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Love to sing? In this class, students will learn the basics of healthy singing while making music together as a group! Through playful warm-ups, fun vocal exercises, and exciting songs, singers will explore breath support, pitch, and tone while discovering how to blend their voices with others. Perfect for young performers who want to build confidence, improve their technique, and experience the joy of singing as part of a team.

Improv (for new and continuing students of all ages and experience).

Runs from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

This fun and fast paced class introduces young actors to the wide-open world of improvisational comedy exercises and mental workouts! Students will develop skills in spontaneity, listening, thinking outside the box, storytelling, and collaboration as they enjoy expressing their sillier side. We will explore the primary tools for creating improvised scenes and developing characters. The objectives of this class are to discover the fundamentals of improvisational comedy, improve storytelling skills, learn techniques to think quickly on your feet, and to be more creative. This spirited, fun class is designed for the actor who wants to learn the essentials of good scenic improvisation or anyone who wants to improve their teamwork or communication skills. Through coaching, warm-up exercises, creative performance games, and basic short-form scene-work, you will learn how to be more spontaneous, trusting, and cooperative, and how to listen in a fun, creative atmosphere.

Runs from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

This class is for intermediate and advanced actors (grades 6-12) interested in the performance of Shakespeare, one of the pillars of the theatrical arts. Students in this class will learn about the language and life of Shakespeare and practice reading and performing monologues and dialogues from each of the three major genres: history, comedy, and tragedy plays.
