Another is that kashrut compensated for unsanitary conditions. Yet, neither of these viewpoints is supported by science or religion.Interestingly, many religions, including Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, observe some form of dietary laws. Why is this? And specifically, why do Jews keep kosher? Are the traditions of kashrut still relevant for those of us who do not observe these practices?
