Trauma-Informed Fundamentals Course

Located at One Vanderbilt Plaza, NYC ( Corner of Vanderbilt and 53rd st- Manhattan) at the law offices of McDermott, Will&amp;Schulte LLPThis 2- day course will cover the fundamentals of the anatomy and physiology of trauma, how strength training impacts trauma, why weightlifting is an empowering modality, the client-trainer relationship, and how to organize your trauma-informed practice. &nbsp; This is an interactive 5.5 hour course that includes lecture, breakout activities, and class discussion. This is designed to give the foundational informational needed to start your trauma-informed practice. You will walk away with a basic understanding of how to keep you and your clients safe. This is meant to be a foundations course as becoming trauma-informed is a journey and an ongoing process. Suggested material for break out sessions: a copy of your cancellation/reschedule policy, a brief bio you would send to your client, and your social media handle and/or website. Who is this course for:Trainers who want to protect themselves and their clients for unintentional phycological harm. So much of what we do in a training session is second nature, but what if I told you how you structure your business communication (emails and in person) can set you and/or your client up for success or burnout. Personal training is highly rewarding but it&rsquo;s not without its challenges. Not only are we to create a safe effective environment with our clients, but we also need to be aware how to maintain boundaries.
