Sliding scale admission.

For a local weekday dance, we can break even with $12 admission from 20 people. 
This does not include our general operating costs: insurance, PO Box, tax filings, and other misc operating costs that are approximately $1000.00 a year including insurance, taxes, and other expenses. It also does not include the state fair dances where we are unable to collect admissions. If we held 50 dances in the year, that would be approximately $20 per dance just for operational expenses. If we held 25 dances in a year, that would be $40.
It also would not include saving money for the future.

Tuesday Night Admission Rate
There are quite a few categories we feel should merit a discount for admission. Instead of the board picking categories of people to get in cheaper, however, we will offer a sliding scale: $5-$20. The person at the door invites you to "pay what you can" and will give you a welcoming smile however much you contribute. While $5 is less than what we need to break even this might work if enough people pay at the high end to balance the people who can only afford the low end.
