Join professor and artist,&nbsp;Shelley White, her university students &amp; colleagues as they celebrate methods of resilience and resistance as seen at COP, the UN&#39;s annual climate conference, which gathers diplomats, negotiators, activists, &amp; artists.&nbsp; They&#39;ll be centering an array of activist resistance movements witnessed at COP, as they&#39;ve followed its course over the past several years. Shelley and the rest of the panel will share observations and reflections, having attended recent COP meetings as delegates from Boston College. In particular, they will celebrate the arts-based and other activist strategies they observed that demanded greater climate and environmental protections in the face of mounting threats. Artist&#39;s Bio Shelley White is an associate professor of the Practice and Director of Experiential Learning in Global Public Health and the Common Good at Boston College in Massachusetts. As an interdisciplinary scholar and global health practitioner, she focuses on health equity and human rights, the politics of health and health policy, and socio-structural determinants of health, including the influences of corporations, trade, militarism, borders, and social inequities, on health. Her art practice uses painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, and installation to grapple with identity, complicity, and the complexities of existing within &mdash; and resisting &mdash; a world that renders people and planet disposable.
