The lights go down, the fog rolls in, and Auxiliary 10429 turns our Post into a haunted house built by hand, by volunteers, for our community.Come walk through if you dare. Bring the kids for the free Kids Zone. Wear the costume you have been working on all month. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so there is no excuse to stay home.But here is what your ticket really buys.Most people know us as the building on the corner. What happens inside it is a food drive that feeds Benbrook neighbors, scholarship money for local students, flags placed on veterans&#39; graves, and a place where veterans find someone who understands without being asked to explain.&nbsp;We are a service organization, and this Post is where all of that work happens.Buildings need roofs, air conditioning, kitchen equipment, and a hundred repairs nobody sees. Every dollar raised on Halloween night goes to the VFW Post Improvement Fund, keeping this place standing and serving for the next generation of veterans and neighbors who walk through the door.So come get scared with us. You will have a great night, and you will be helping us take care of the home that takes care of so many others.We will see you on Halloween!
