Join us for a virtual workshop to learn about and create your own wagashi, a traditional Japanese confection! We will be joined by wagashi artist, Toshiko Sugii Steffes, and she will guide us through the creation of two different wagashi designs. Before the event, materials for the creation of your wagashi will be mailed to you so you can follow along with Toshiko and create your own wagashi.  Aside from the provided materials, you will need to prepare and bring: Food coloring (such as a standard set of 3-4 colors from the baking aisle), plastic wrap, hand towels, a tray or plate, and a ruler.  When: February 4th, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST.  Where: Online This event is subsidized by Great Lakes JETAA, and there is a small, reduced fee for participation. GLJETAA alumni member tickets will cost $5, and they can register up to four "friends of JET" for an additional $10 each. The last day to register for this event is January 23rd!
