A unique and powerful presentation by Leigh Anne Brown showcasing how bridal fashion mirrors the changing roles and voices of women through the generations, coupled with an afternoon tea. Ms. Brown shares many heartfelt stories and rich history behind 18 vintage wedding gowns. She reveals how each dress represents, not just a wedding day, but a woman’s journey, her place in history, and the progress she inspired. We anticipate approximately 200 guests seeing and hearing about the wedding gowns, with examples dating as far back as 1859. A day of reflection, sisterhood and celebration. We are seeking sponsorships and donations of gift certificates, flowers, and/or monetary support. Proceeds from this event will benefit the American Association of University Women, (AAUW) Manatee and our ongoing mission of supporting women and girls by providing scholarships, leadership development, educational programs and STEM camp, creating lasting change for future generations. Nationally, AAUW was established in 1881. 🎉 Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at Manatee County Branch (FL) AAUW's fundraising event.
