We're excited to welcome Dr. Joshua Wilson, recommended by Dr. Steve Graham, a writing instruction expert. Dr. Wilson's session will focus on how AI can improve education through its evolving role in writing assessment and writing instruction. He will discuss current research on AI and writing assessment, showing that AI can score, respond to, and support writing in increasingly sophisticated ways. He will argue that capability alone does not guarantee educational value; the future of writing instruction depends on whether AI tools are designed, validated, and used to strengthen student judgment, feedback uptake, reasoning, and revision rather than displace them.
