Visitors of New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill may recognize the scene depicted in this piece. Inspired by the Wildlife Refuge Pond and the famous turtle fountain in the Winter Garden at NEBG. The turtle fountains are named Castor and Pollux and were modeled after the native eastern box turtle. I took these characters and turned their likeness into a new story. Castor and Pollux are brothers who have been stuck across the pond from each other. After so much time searching the two siblings are finally reunited on the same side of the pond. Other creatures who reside near the pond grace this image as well. This piece was recently featured in the New England SCBWI Illustration Show at the Hoxie Gallery in Westerly, RI. The original art was created with watercolors, watercolor gesso, colored pencils, and gouache on hot pressed watercolor paper. You are purchasing a matted and signed print of the art. To inquire about purchasing the original painting, please contact Victoria. This is a matted and signed digitally printed open edition art print. Matted with a white hinged mat with backing board. Available in 8x10" size (matted to 11x14"). Signed with archival ink. This ships in a recyclable rigid cardboard envelope and the art is stored in a clear plastic sleeve to keep it safe from dirt and moisture. Valued at $38.00.
