This Campaign has two events: Autumn Seed Collection, and Winter Seed Sowing. You do NOT have to register for both events! In November, Autumn Seed Collection will give you the chance to see another part of the cycle: harvesting native grass and flower seeds in order to sow them in the spring. Different seeds need different types of care during harvest and when sowing them, so NCEC's native seed experts will be on-hand to teach us the best ways to to gather, store, and plant our seeds. Then in January, Winter Seed Sowing 🌱❄️ is a hands-on workshop where you’ll plant native seeds in simple outdoor “mini-greenhouses.” As winter does the work of cold-stratifying the seeds, you help lay the groundwork for healthier soil, cleaner water, and habitat for pollinators and wildlife. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Join Newaygo County Environmental Coalition in learning practical steps to restore native landscapes and support a sustainable natural world close to home.
