Enjoy an easy hike on the beautiful winter trails of Fairview Farm and learn to about our native trees with expert forester Heather Gracie! All participants will leave with an identification booklet, and a small sketchbook to make your own notes. Hot tea, coffee, and cider will be served; bring your own reusable container to enjoy your drink as we meander! This event is great for teens and adults! Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.Participants should plan to dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear - we will update everyone on the status of the trails the day before the event so you can dress appropriately! This event is part of our collaboration with Friluftsliving Family and Gnome Matter the Weather. We hope this series of events will help inspire you to get outside with your loved ones, even through the cold, dark (and beautiful!) days of winter! Accessibility: This program will be held on the trails of Fairview Farm; the paths we will take will be mostly level with some slight inclines/declines. There may be roots, mud, and/or snow and ice. We will walk at a slow pace for optimal observations! There is an ADA accessible restroom onsite. Please reach out to Lauren at ltheis@raritanheadwaters.org for any questions or to chat about how we can make this program more accessible to you!
