Alaska presents a unique landscape for advocacy and public policy, where local, Tribal, state, and federal governments intersect&mdash;and where decisions made at one level can have significant impacts on communities and the environment. This panel will explore how nonprofit organizations, community advocates, Tribal leaders, and government representatives navigate these overlapping systems to share information, strengthen public participation, and advance community priorities. Panelists will discuss both the opportunities and challenges of working across governmental and community structures, including how organizations can build effective partnerships while respecting Tribal sovereignty, local leadership, and the distinct roles of different institutions. The conversation will offer practical insights into collaboration, advocacy, and civic engagement in Alaska, with broader lessons for organizations working across complex governmental and community systems. This event will be offered in a hybrid format, with opportunities to participate both in person and virtually.
