These improv skills will lead you to become a better, more present actor (and human!) because it involves being present, playing, listening, individual growth and most of all - having fun. Drawing on the fundamental concept of &ldquo;Yes, And&rdquo; in improvisation, in both group exercises and games we will explore impulse &amp; spontaneity, taking risks, finding agreement and other building blocks of improvisation, all in a supportive environment that embraces the idea of trusting yourself and your scene partner. MELISA KLAUSNER studied for two years with Paul Sills, co-founder of The Second City Theatre and son of Viola Spolin, who created and developed a system of actor training that evolved to become the modern art form of improvisation. Melisa graduated from the New Actors Workshop Conservatory where she studied with founders Paul Sills, George Morrison and legendary stage and film director, Mike Nichols. She has performed on Broadway and in the National tour of Les Miserables, as well as Off-Broadway and regionally across the country.

There is a parking lot alongside our building that should have plenty of open spots on the day of your workshop. The door to come inside is the one furthest to your left as you look at the building from the parking lot.  We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for this particular workshop. You are welcome to bring a water bottle with you, but please do not bring food into the classroom.
