Encore Community Arts

Youth Community Strings Project

Youth Community Strings Project (YCSP) is a 7-week beginner violin program designed to introduce students to music through supportive instruction. Through Encore Community Arts (ECA), this program will provide students aged 8-14 with the opportunity to learn the basics of violin in a low pressure group setting. This class will be taught by a local senior high school student, Mr. Austin. Austin has been playing violin for 14 years and is trained in the Suzuki method. He currently plays with Denver Young Artists Orchestra and Colorado College Collegium. The goal of this project is to make music education more accessible by offering a low-cost introductory program for students to begin learning an instrument. Guided by Encore Community Arts’ mission to keep the arts personal, accessible, and wildly creative, students learn to play, listen, and collaborate.
