Learn To &ldquo;Tangle&rdquo; Using the Zentangle Method* NO Mistakes* NO Artistic Experience* NO Stress Learn the 8 steps and the 5 strokes used to create repetitive patterns (tangles) in a mindful and meditative way. You will learn to create black and white &ldquo;tiles&rdquo; using specially made paper &ldquo;tiles&rdquo;, fine tip pens, modified graphite pencils and tortillons. The tiles can be arranged to create a mosaic. This method is different from doodling because it is designed to calm the mind using focused, intentional and deliberate pattern drawing. Not only is it a meditative artform for a personal practice, anecdotal data shows this practice is quite beneficial to people with phobias, addictions, workplace burnout, and conflict resolution difficulties. As a Parsons-Bruce Art Association workshop, Margaret Covington, a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), will be teaching this introductory class on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 12:30-2:30 at St. John&rsquo;s Episcopal Church, 197 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA. All materials will be provided. The cost is $20.00 for PBAA members and $25.00 for others. Class size will be limited.
