Zoom Workshop: A.I. Considerations for Clinical Practice

Whether you are just interested in psychology, an aspiring clinician (Graduate or Undergraduate) or have had a practice for decades, this workshop is designed for all individuals wishing to gain more understanding of AI in Mental Health. This workshop will be offered on Saturday, April 26th from 11am - 2pm.

This training explores the evolving role of artificial intelligence in clinical settings through a lens grounded in ethics and practical application. Participants will be introduced to real-world AI tools, evaluate ethical implications, and consider how to integrate AI in a way that enhances—not replaces—human-centered care. Content will also cover the intersection of AI and mental health. Participants will leave with a nuanced understanding of AI’s opportunities and limitations, especially as they relate to equity, client autonomy, and professional responsibility.

Learning Outcomes:

- Identify current applications and limitations of AI in mental health care.

- Critically assess the ethical implications of AI use in clinical practice.

- Evaluate AI tools for alignment with core therapeutic values.

- Understand practical and HIPAA compliant strategies for integrating AI.

- Create personal guidelines for responsible AI use in mental health.

This workshop will be facilitated via Zoom by Dr. Austin Attaway.

Austin Attaway, Ph.D., is an Organizational Psychologist and a Professor at the University of California, Riverside, School of Business. He studies ethical leadership, organizational justice, change management and the integration of emerging innovations and technologies into organizational settings. He has also given a TEDx talk on building personal capacity.

All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance from Life Source Training Institute, Inc. This workshop will also provide any practicum students or Associate clinicians with 3 supplementary or professional development hours needed for licensure under the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

All proceeds will go directly to our non-profit for program services and reduction of mental health service fees for underprivileged communities. A charity receipt will be generated upon purchase. You can learn more about our organization and mission HERE.
