U.S. SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL As the nation prepares for its Semiquincentennial (250th Anniversary), PGC250 is bringing together Prince Georgians to explore and commemorate our contributions to the manifestation of American ideas of equality in democracy. Our county is rich in centuries of history — playing out steps away from our nation's capital in Washington, DC. We have contributed greatly to the ongoing struggle to achieve freedom from oppression and access to liberty for all Americans and put into practice the living ideals of our nation's founding documents. PGC250 has planned historic and recreational events across the county in 2026 including genealogical workshops, historical research, historical interpretation training, educational bike rides and boat rides, and a large-scale public cultural event in May 2026. Your contribution is tax-deductible to planning partner, Anacostia Trails Heritage Area, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations will support research, interpretation, events, and outreach related to PGC250. IMPORTANT NOTE Marylanders donating $500 or more are eligible for a 50% tax credit but must complete a Donor Waiver Form prior to the donation! Please read on if you are interested: As allowed by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, donors who contribute $500 or more to ATHA will receive Maryland State Tax Credits of $.50 for every dollar donated. For example, a $1,000 gift would earn $500 in tax credits, and donations may also qualify for federal and state charitable deductions as well. DOWNLOAD THE FORM HERE ATHA has $12,500 in tax credits to support $25,000 in programs and projects related to Prince George's 250 commemoration.
