We raised $20,000 for NY court case and paid to attorneys All new funds go to fighting CMS! Contributing to the HAFA Agent Defense Fund is not just a donation—it is an investment in the survival and future of our industry. The need to stand together has never been greater. CMS has now imposed a temporary moratorium preventing agents and brokers who did not have an active 2026 Exchange Agreement from newly registering for Plan Year 2027. CMS has also intensified its enforcement activity, reporting more than 200 agent and broker terminations since January 2026 and 569 additional notices of intent to terminate Exchange Agreements. CMS is simultaneously implementing new identity-proofing, consumer-authorization, and enrollment requirements. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services HAFA supports legitimate efforts to stop fraud and protect consumers. But fighting fraud must not come at the expense of compliant agents, due process, consumer choice, or Americans’ access to the professional agents and brokers they rely upon.Independent agents and brokers are facing decisions that could fundamentally change how we serve consumers and conduct business in the individual health insurance market. These battles cannot be fought on passion alone. They require experienced legal counsel, a coordinated national strategy, and the financial resources necessary to challenge government actions when we believe they unfairly harm agents, brokers, or the consumers we serve. The HAFA Agent Defense Fund gives our industry the resources to respond. It allows us to defend fair treatment, protect due process, preserve consumer access to professional assistance, and protect the vital role independent agents and brokers play in helping Americans navigate increasingly complex health insurance decisions. This is bigger than any one agent, agency, FMO, or organization. By contributing, you are helping protect an entire profession—and the consumers who depend on us every day. Protect the Profession. Defend the Agent. Fund the Fight. We are Bulldogs. We do not walk away when our profession is threatened.
